There was sad news about the passing of Phil Simmons last week.
Phil was the Club Professional and Golf Director at Mount Edgecombe Country Club for many years and he was certainly a force of nature.
In his heyday, he competed at the highest level as one of the few left-handed golfers on Tour – a big hitter with an excellent short game.
Phil had been in poor health for some time, and our condolences go out to his family.
Rest in Peace to the Germiston Giant.
